Playing characteristics

With a rebound height of 64 cm, the ball is classified as very fast and is also considered a rotation ball. At 63.5 sh, the ball is quite hard. By heating the ball, it bounces higher and therefore rolls faster. Additionally, heating makes it softer, which allows it to rebound more from the band. The weight of 45 g for the small ball is in the heavy range. Since the ball is raw, i.e., unpainted, it has a very rough surface. This ensures that the ball brakes more when rolling and takes more spin when playing off the band, meaning it comes off the band more strongly.

The story behind the ball

The "3D type" - number balls were developed and manufactured by the minigolf production company 3D in Austria. Behind the numbering is a system that allows the balls to be categorized according to their properties. Each of the three numbers represents a categorization of the three different properties in the following order: rebound height (0–9), hardness (2–7), weight (1–6). The higher the first number, the faster the ball. The higher the second number, the harder the ball. The higher the third number, the heavier the ball. Accordingly, the 3D-type 874-number ball can be classified as very fast, rather hard, and heavy.
