About Us

Minigolf has been a part of my family for generations. As early as 1967, my grandfather, together with friends, founded the first minigolf club in Tuttlingen. What started as a hobby back then developed into a passion that still shapes our family today.

My father grew up on the minigolf courses of Baden-Württemberg and achieved great sporting successes himself as German Champion and European Team Champion. And so, even as a baby, I spent many weekends at minigolf courses – first in a stroller next to the course and later with my own club in hand.

At the age of six, I started playing myself. The first tournaments were anything but successful. I lost more than I won. But that's exactly what fascinated me about mini-golf: every shot offered the chance to be better than the last.

First regional tournaments turned into state championships, German championships and finally international competitions. Over many years, I was able to develop step by step and eventually win six world championship titles, four European championship titles and several German championships.

However, along this journey, I didn't just experience the beautiful aspects of the sport. Often, minigolf was scoffed at. I heard statements like "Anyone can become a world champion in minigolf" more often than I would have liked. For a long time, I hardly talked about my sport outside my closest circle.

It was only over the years that I understood that this was precisely my strength. Minigolf taught me how to deal with setbacks, to work towards goals long-term, to take responsibility for my development, and to believe in myself. It gave me friendships around the world and shaped me as a person. That's why I became an ambassador for the sport of minigolf.

Because there's much more to minigolf than just recreational fun. Minigolf is concentration. Mental strength. Personal development. Community. A sport that people can play together regardless of age, origin, or physical abilities.

This is how the vision for One Putt was born. Over many years, I have experienced how difficult it can be to get the right information, suitable equipment, and understandable assistance. Especially beginners often face a multitude of questions and don't know where to start.

At the same time, it became clear to me: If we want to inspire more people for mini-golf, access to the sport must become easier.

During my master's studies in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Lund University, I met my current co-founder Leonard Balzer. Leonard had already successfully built e-commerce companies in various niches and shared my conviction that mini-golf deserves significantly more attention.

Together, we founded One Putt. Our goal is to make miniature golf knowledge and equipment easily accessible. We want to be the go-to resource for everyone – from first-time players looking for their initial putter to ambitious hobbyists, tournament players, and facility operators.

Above all, however, we want to share our passion for this sport.

Because mini-golf offers opportunities that extend far beyond athletic achievements. It has given me self-confidence, friendships, personal growth, and a strong community.

With One Putt, we want to help even more people have these exact experiences and grow beyond themselves.
